About
I’m fascinated by people, how they interact and behave. I love watching the world and capturing the everyday moments of life that most people take for granted.
Specialising in reportage, lifestyle and portraiture I create authentic, optimistic content for ad agencies, design teams and clients directly.
Raised in Brixton by a stained-glass artist, a Jazz musician and later a professor of theoretical physics my influences growing up were certainly eclectic! As a result, I learnt to look at the world from many different perspectives.
I fell in love with photography at secondary school and when I was (reluctantly) moved, aged 16, from the buzz of south London to a quiet village in Oxfordshire, we discovered that our new family home had once been owned by the founder members of Magnum. I took this as confirmation that I was on the right career path!
Inspired by these documentary photographers, I learnt to shoot on the frontline of political demonstrations and the mostly nocturnal world of festivals. It was here that I began developing the ability to capture unique moments in almost any environment.
I graduated from the University of Brighton with a photography degree in 2002, then spent 10 exciting years travelling the world as an assistant photographer before starting to shoot my own commissions.
Decades later I’ve shot nurses caring for terminally ill patients, cabin crew during live flights at 38000 feet, riggers in the oil fields of Egypt, children canoeing in the docks beside London city airport and even Santa and his elves in the Artic circle! Suffice to say that I’m always on the lookout for the next adventure!

Ben was responsible for capturing all of the photography that featured in our most recent employer brand campaign for EY’s EMEIA Financial Services region. I was hugely impressed with Ben’s ability to put our campaign stars at ease in front of the camera and capture such beautiful portraits in our restrictive office environment. He was able to improvise on the spot and demonstrated a lot of patience and quick thinking when needing to change locations and accommodate any last-minute changes in the schedule. His energy and positivity is infectious, exactly what we needed during those long film shoots! The final photographs were wonderfully edited and received very positive feedback both internally and externally – I would highly recommend Ben for any similar projects in the future.

If you were to look in his camera bag, I expect you would find: an invisibility cloak that enables him to get right where he needs to be when taking documentary photography and, some kind of "Human Catnip" that immediately puts people at ease when he's taking portraits.
